I believe photography is not just about my camera and I, it is about getting to know people and letting their true selves show in my work. I would like you to get to know me a little better...my name is Nicole Byington. Anyone who knows me knows that I love my Boston Terrier dog named Roxy. I was adopted from China when I was three and a half years old and grew up in San Jose/Los Gatos California; playing a variety of sports such as gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, swimming and soccer ( AKA the jock). Even though I played all these sports my passion and heart went into soccer. As I got older, I fell upon a new passion and was given new opportunities in my life; while still holding onto my first true passion of soccer. I started carrying my camera with me to family occasions, with friends and when I traveled. My camera gave me a voice that soccer couldn't. While I could be very physical and competitive on the soccer field, my first love couldn't let me see and express the beauty in the world and people. I prefer shooting outside with natural light and using fun and interesting settings. My quest as a photographer is to capture the "real" moments and connection between loved ones or the unique beauty of individuals. I value the opportunity to find the story in every shot. I specialize in photographing special needs children in the Central Valley! I live in Modesto, California but travel from the Bay Area and throughout the Central Valley. Navigate to my Special Needs page to learn more about how I got involved with the special needs community and my love for them! |
